Not quite sure what I was aiming for, but I liked how this first time piece turned out. If you look closely, there are translucent wings sprouting from the jewel itself.

The artist herself/himself is the most harsh of critics - I feel like something is missing....>.<....Not sure if its done yet, but I don't want to screw it up before I even get to let you guys see my horrible attempt at such a piece.

It it wasn't for nmsimth's [link] wondrous jewel creating tutorials - I would have never had the honor of creating this.
